Thanks, Theresa. I shot this in color in raw format (instead of jpg) and converted it using Adobe’s Lightroom (which by the way is a free download right now since it is a beta program that they are working on – I recommend it.)
What do you use to read your raw Nikon files? I’m getting my Nikon D80 in a couple weeks hopefully. I didn’t really want to by Photoshop CS2 (I have Elements 5) or the Nikon program. I was hoping there was something cheaper! )
Thank you for visiting my sites and commenting. I really appreciate it.
To process my raw images I have been using mostly Adobe Lightroom – the beta version. Then I fine tune my photos using Elements 4. This may change for me though. Just this week Adobe announced that the final release of Adobe Lightroom will be available in February – this means I will need to buy it ($199!) or switch. I have some decisions to make.
Elements is great but I find it a little in converting the files. Lightroom was so nice because it was so fast and easy to organize the all those pictures and do some cool editing, too. I am seriously considering paying for Nikon Capture. I did the 30 day demo of it and it was pretty good – that will mean learning another program and paying $ though.
One other program I considering is “Gimp”. If you haven’t heard of it, it is a photoshop like program that is opensource and free. You can learn more about it here: http://www.gimp.org/ or http://osdir.com/Article7278.phtml
Great shot and balance in this BW…was it shot in B&W or altered?
