Photo Details:
- ISO 1800
- 1/30 sec @ f/5.6
- cropped in Lightroom
- Photoshop: created a duplicate layer with a soft light blend mode
- back in Lightroom: I used Matt’s New York Vintage Preset (medium, I think) and then increased the orange saturation to bring a little more skin color.
- Finally in Photoshop again I lightened up the face a bit using the Digital Fill Flash action from Kubota’s Artistic Actions Vol II & added a 3 pixel black border
Thanks for looking!

Happy Birthday Jenny!!! I hope you had a great one. I love the violin picture. And the kitties are cute too. It’s fun to see what all you are doing with software. I am still plugging away with Elements. I recently updated to 6. We are considering going to full Photoshop in the future but had other expenses this year. I am curious to know, besides the organizing features, what is better/different in Lightroom that causes you to use both it and Photoshop?

Saw this photo last week before I knew about the contest. Congrats! Does it make it easier to take great pix when you are related to such great subjects?
Loved the kitty, of course, but I’m partial to them as you well know.
